1. SITUATION

Enemy Forces: Intelligence confirms Vietcong presence along the Mekong tributary routes within the Golden Triangle. Reconnaissance indicates supply caches, jungle encampments, and river-based transit points.

Weather: Monsoon conditions; reduced visibility, swollen rivers, increased enemy activity during early morning hours.

2. MISSION

Recon Team Iron Poppy inserting by HALO drop north of Objective RED LOTUS at TBD.

Primary objectives:
- Locate and destroy Vietcong supply caches along the Powder Trail (enemy supply route).
- Intercept and seize opium shipments bound for enemy rear bases.
- Neutralize key Vietcong leadership elements if encountered.

Secondary objectives:
- Gather photographic intelligence of river crossing points.
- Mark suspected enemy safehouses for later airstrikes.

Rules of Engagement (ROE):
- Engagement is authorized for confirmed hostile forces only.
- Avoid civilian casualties if extraction is impossible.
